My name is Phil Del Negro and I firmly believe that one has to have passion, dedication and determination in everything that they strive to accomplish in today’s business environment. What I am most passionate about centers around both organization and communication. I enjoy working on ways in a company to improve communication on all levels; implementing steps to streamline existing processes; developing and executing plans to provide for back-up and redundancy; introducing technology solutions where available as well as measuring performance with benchmarks and analytics.

Work Experience
In 1969, there were no successful solar businesses, and FAFCO® founders Freeman A. Ford and Richard O. Rhodes sought to change that. The standard they set back then remains the same today: any new FAFCO® product must be practical, efficient, and above all, make economic sense.
In the beginning, the few existing solar water heating system used heavy, expensive “copper glass” collectors.FAFCO®’s first breakthrough was developing a proprietary copolymer blend material that was inexpensive, easy to install, and could withstand prolonged exposure to sunlight, heat and pressure. The second breakthrough was the collector panel design, featuring many small, closely spaced tubes that efficiently transferred thermal energy into water. Within a matter of years, FAFCO® was the largest purveyor of solar pool heating systems in the United States.
In 1998, After witnessing FAFCO®’s success in solar pool heating, the Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory approached FAFCO® with an exciting challenge: to jointly develop the world’s first lightweight, affordable solar heating system for household water. FAFCO® accepted the challenge, and in 2007, introduced a solar hot water system capable of reducing water heating bills by up to 50%—even more in some applications.
In a history spanning over four decades, FAFCO® has earned nearly 30 U.S. patents. FAFCO®’s achievements in solar technology have been widely recognized with a variety of industry awards and even a feature in Newsweek magazine’s “History of Solar” in 2008. Today, FAFCO® remains confident that with time and technology, it will achieve its ultimate goal of putting solar energy within reach of every household.
The Market Director is responsible for organizing, motivating, and leading an entire market. The leader is responsible for meeting and exceeding sales targets while managing the ongoing profitability of a given geographic region.
The Director will apply his track record of proven leadership abilities and substantial history of direct sales success to recruiting, hiring, managing, training, and motivating a sales team that exceeds goals and targets. With direct reporting responsibility for 3+ Team Leaders, the Market Director applies his communication, management, and sales acumen to ensure that the highest standards of sales skills are met and that measurable sales results attained.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Inspire, manage, motivate, and mentor teams of Team Leaders, Assistant Team Leaders, Solar Consultants, Consultants-in-Training and Field Marketing Specialists to maximize lead generation and conversion, increase sales volume, and attain sales quota in assiged market;
• Monitor and coach to performance scorecards;
• Act as a champion of ASD’s training, onboarding, and career progression program, ensuring adherence, standard attainment, and high levels of visionary communication to team;
• Partner with recruiting to develop strategies to attract “A” talent;
• Source, interview, hire, and inspire new talent to join the ASD team and excel in a sales role, ensuring that all open requisitions are filled timely;
• Conduct ride-alongs and work-withs in field to ensure compliance with best practices in offering the ASD program;
• Conduct evaluations of new hires to complete sales process certification;
• Deliver new-hire training to ensure adherence to ASD standards; effectively present and translate learning into performance within a 1:MANY and a 1:1 environment;
• Provide leadership and development training for the new Team Leaders and ensure that they have the necessary tools to succeed in their respective roles

Clearly, turning to the sun for renewable energy is on the rise.
Until recently, the pool and spa industry had mostly focused on passive solar water heating systems, which have been around for nearly 50 years with relatively steady but modest market penetration. That may have changed just over two years ago when solar manufacturer FAFCO introduced a line of systems called CoolPV, which combine both water heating and PV electricity generation in one panel.
While similar technology has been available in Europe for more than a decade, it is new to the U.S. market. According to Phil DelNegro, FAFCO’s vice president of sales and marketing, the concept has gained immediate and widespread acceptance.
“We’ve increased sales by more than 300 percent over last year and have signed up hundreds of dealers nationwide,” DelNegro says. “From a sales perspective, it’s taken off like gangbusters right from the start because it just makes sense for both homeowners and professionals. From a manufacturing standpoint we’ve had zero defects and zero performance issues. In fact, the product has performed far better than we anticipated.”
